Hi everyone.....we made it back from the institute held in Bozeman, Montana from June 7-12. The assistant director, Sharon Running Hawk and I spent the entire week networking with all the other tribal librarians.

Montana State University hosts the Tribal College Librarians Institute (TCLI). This is an annual week-long conference of continuing education and professional development experiences for information professionals serving Native American communities.

We were delighted with most of the speakers....everyone has favorites....and we are glad to get home!!!!!!....happy day!

...we listened to speakers on Indian law, government access and information, national library of medicine, 'how to' technology that includes twitter, blogs, wiki's, face book and such........one session was so great..... We discussed developing tribal library standards.......step aside world....here come the tribal librarians....it is soooo cool....

...also there was a book talk of Louise Erdrich Painted Drum on Tuesday evening....we were able to spend a morning at the Bozeman public library (worst and best of the trip) and there I found something I have been looking for and a MUST HAVE for us..........stay tuned for more info on that!!!!!!

....program with Gary McCone from the National Agriculture Library and guess who had a link????????.....YES YES...IT IS US...you, me, students, staff, faculty and community at the Oglala Lakota College Library.....am so proud of us.........another soooooo cool......and a bit more on the serious side..spokesman Janet from the federal depository library program....

....so it was good and we came home.........happy days to everyone and be in touch!!!!
